Thank you for taking the time to explore my work in editing, marketing, and media production. For more directed browsing, utilize the navigation bar at the top of this page.

Since I became a part of 3 to 4 Ounces in the spring of 2024, I have held various positions. I began my time as a photography editor. Although, from the moment I joined, I knew I wanted to be on the editorial side of things. The following semester, I was asked to be a managing editor for our Fall 2024 edition. While studying abroad in London, I took a small step back and became a social media manager . However, I returned to my role of managing editor for my senior fall. Now, I hold a position which is brand new to the magazine: "Senior Editor." My duties are essentially the same as a managing editor, but I approach the role from a mentorship standpoint–providing guidance and assistance to the new managing editors and executive board members.
Released in the Winter of 2024, I worked on this publication alongside Mr. Simmons as an editorial intern. My first task was to read through a collection of 90 essays and choose around 45 to include in this book. From there, I organized the essays into sections and chapters, prioritizing flow and communicating an overarching message. Finally, I conducted 3 rounds of edits on the essays that narrowed from more general content and restructuring to line by line copy editing.

While the editorial process for this book was similar to that of Practical Wisdom, Mr. Simmons granted me even greater agency in how I approached my duties for this project. Working on this book was particularly enjoyable on a personal level. It allowed me to utilize some of my knowlege and skills from my studies in Psychology while assiting with the development and research for the chapters centering on depression and mental health challenges.
Final Writing Portfolio
This is a small collection of deliverable samples completed for my Writing for Public Relations and Advertising course (Fall 2025). As an English major, I enjoyed the challenge of writing for these purposes, even though it felt vastly different from the world of academic papers and creative writing.
For our class assignments, our client was a fictional company, ThermAdapt, selling unique outdoor apparel with climate-adapting technology. Though I unfortunately cannot share our ThermAdapt brand kit or the directions for this project, these samples stand on their own to demonstrate my understanding of writing across deliverable formats.
Included are short mock versions of the following deliverables: one news release, two pitch emails to (real) journalists, one blog post, and two versions of copy for non-promotional social media posts.
For this course, we used Target as a case study for developing a strategic communications campaign in teams of 5 students. This individually-graded mid-term project allowed us to demonstrate our independent thought processes and understanding of a campaign's early research and planning stages. We then combined our ideas, using our inividual assessments as a guide to create our campaign's big idea, primary and secondary messaging, and deliverable executions.
For this course, I was tasked with creating a seven minute podcast on either a local-interest or personal story. The project required conducting one 30-minute and two 10-minute interviews along with all supplementary audio components. All audio was recorded using the Voice Memo app on my iPhone, as this was a summer course and I did not have access to more professional recording equipment. The project was edited in Adobe Audition, which we learned how to navigate over the duration of the course.
Last summer, I was recovering from a badly sprained ankle that had me attending physical therapy twice a week at TherapySouth Crestline in my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Inspired by my observations of the environment, people, and culture of the studio, I asked the director if I could use TherapySouth as my subject for this project. He kindly agreed. I am very grateful to Zach, Stephen, and Kelsey at TherapySouth Crestline for agreeing to be part of this project. All ambient studio audio recordings and client/therapist interactions are from my own sessions.
